Keep scrolling to find out what you can expect at our (your) night.
Fourth Thursday of every month
At:
The Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, Bovey Tracey
Starting 7:30pm
This one gets busy, please book a slot with the form here, or by email info@rhythmandshoesband.uk or message us on facebook.
Get involved, share pics etc at the faceBook group below.
If you'd like to get notifications and reminders about our Open Mic nights follow this link to our listing on Lemon Rock (where we advertise all of our events) and click the grey heart button to follow us. They will send you email updates free of charge (you now have to sign up for that service, but it's still free. Click "join as a music lover" on their website).
We try to keep things simple, informal and fun!
All are welcome. No advanced bookings necessary as far as playing is concerned (Unless you're coming to the Dartmoor Whisky distillery, in which case send us a message in advance 'cause we're a bit more limited for time there). These nights get BUSY so you might want to book a table at the pub to be sure to get somewhere to sit.
(That said, we're all pretty friendly and tend to end up sharing tables anyway).
You'll be on stage on a (roughly) first come, first served basis. We try to let everyone get three songs (or 15 mins), which may then leave time to have a second go, later on. You don't have to do a full three songs if you don't want to, but we find it's best to come with five or six prepared just in case.
Come and join a friendly, welcoming, encouraging and always appreciative bunch of musicians and musicophiles. No minimum standards required. Just come and have a go.
If you come to one of our Open Mic nights we can provide you with instrument cables, microphones and mic stands and a music stand, or you can bring your own if you prefer.
We welcome lots of instruments, but politely, not drum kits as they take a long time to set up and we like everyone to get a turn.
We'll bring a cajon for any willing percussionists. Feel free to bring your own tambourines, shaky eggs, bodhrans or spoons!
We're looking forward to sharing lots of live music with you all very soon.
Please send us a message if you want to get in touch or have any questions about booking us, upcoming gigs or these Open Mic nights.
These good folk and maybe you too are our guests and the real stars of our Open Mic nights.
